Our Team Building Program
The JK Community Farm is the perfect place to host your corporate team building event. Planting and harvesting are great activities to initiate socializing and for a team to get to know each other better. All projects at the JK Community Farm require teamwork which allow your employees to better understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests. As teams work together to complete a task, we see them build a sense of team spirit and bonding. The JK Community Farm’s Corporate Team Building Program offers a positive and fulfilling service-learning opportunity for groups of all types. 100% of the food grown at the JK Community Farm is planted and harvested with the help of volunteers, our 150 acre farm provides plenty of space for your volunteer group to socially distance while feeding our community in need.
A Typical Team Building Event
What does a group volunteer event look like?
Typically, our volunteer hours are 9am-12pm, but our times are flexible based on the needs of your group. Once the team arrives on site, you will be greeted by staff members, and given a tour of the farm and our mission. The team will be led to their project site which may be an activity such as planting peppers, harvesting carrots, harvesting sweet potatoes etc. Depending on the group size, we may have multiple projects selected for your group to complete during the event. After we finish our activity, we will load the food pantry truck for distribution, and take a group photo. The JK Community Farm also takes photos during the event that we are more than happy to share. We invite you to stay for a picnic lunch at the farm after your volunteer event, our recommendations are listed on our Corporate Prep Flyer. The JK Community Farm has hosted volunteer events for companies such as Capital One, Deloitte, Salesforce, Baker Tilly, JK Moving, Infinitive, Cap Relo, Acumen Solutions, Northwest Federal Credit Union, Wipfli, Flexwind, Carfax, RSM, FlyWheel, Appian.
