In our first season at The JK Community Farm, dealing with deer has been a sincere challenge. Despite investment in two rings of electrified fencing, the deer have continued to plunder our harvest. The deer definitely have a preference for the quality, organic crops in the field.

On Saturday, July 21st, General Manager, Michael Smith and other volunteers were on hand to install a third perimeter of fencing. We hope this additional line of defense will do the trick.

It was a hot, steamy, sticky day at the farm. But that wasn’t slowing down Maico Arellano.

This young man, Levi Smith, has been one of the hardest workers at the farm this summer. He is amazing!
